Fancy some retro gaming with your favourite tipple? Four Quarters’ Newcastle bar is opening soon following huge success in Loncon and Bristol.
Considered the UK’s original and best arcade bar chain, Four Quarters is expanding from existing venues in Peckham, Hackney Wick, and Elephant Part in London, and Bristol. Four Quarters is so-named because £1.50 gets you four American quarters to feed into their machines, a varied collection of vintage arcade games from the 1970s to the mid-2000s.
Four Quarters’ Newcastle location is on Dean Street, with plans to move into the basement and lower ground floor of the former Gershwin’s restaurant.
Among the cabinets you’ll find there are Pac-Man, Time Crisis 2, and a number of old school consoles situated in comfy booths: SEGA Mega Drive, Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation 2. Meanwhile, a range of pizza, classic and themed cocktails, and local craft beers are on offer, and Four Quarters Newcastle also accepts bookings for private parties.
Four Quarters also promises a schedule of live events, such as film screenings and a pop culture quiz. Doors open seven days a week in early December, 2022.
