The Arcade Archives library of classic re-releases for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 continues this week with Ryukyu, a largely-forgotten (in the UK, at least) arcade card game. It was originally released in 1990 by Success, a company better known for the Cotton games.
What do you do in Ryukyu?
I’ll be honest, the only time I’ve ever seen a card game in the arcades, the machine was for gambling. So Ryukyu is totally new to me.
The video description states “Choose the cards you want to use from your hand and drop them into the squares to complete the highest-scoring poker hand possible in vertical, horizontal or diagonal lines. So… What happens if you clear the game by placing the Ryukyu card in the middle?”
