It’s been the question on everyone’s lips who will be the new GamesMaster when the show returns in 2022?
Well we now have the answer. Stepping into the GamesMaster helmet is former newscaster and documentary presenter Sir Trevor McDonald!
After being leaked by The Sun newspaper’s online incarnation this morning, the news was finally confirmed by Channel 4 at lunchtime today.

Of the appointment (or, dare we say, promotion?) Sir Trevor McDonald said: “I am delighted to be taking on this iconic role for a new generation of viewers.” McDonald

In no way a replacement for Sir Patrick Moore, the knighted newsreader is an excellent choice to oversee events in the revived show.
New presenters have already been announced. Robert Florence is the gaming host and creative consultant with Frankie Ward and newcomer Ty Logan joining as co-hosts.
Originally hosted by Dominik Diamond, GamesMaster ran from 1992 to 1998, with a single series hosted by Dexter Fletcher. The revival will air online on the E4 YouTube channel and on E4’s TV channel.
