Like many other greats, the Nintendo GameCube is enjoying a bit of a reappraisal years after it was put out to pasture. This has not gone unnoticed by collectors, with some GameCube games currently being sold for what we can only describe as “silly money.”

Take, for example, Pokemon Colloseum, while at this moment in time is listed on eBay for numerous inflated prices, depending upon condition. The current highest price for the game is £8,000 – but recently a Redditor spotted the game with a pre-order bonus disc listed at $75,000.

SEVVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS

That seems more than a little bit too much for a pair of 3-inch plastic discs, doesn’t it?

Whether you think these prices are delusional or simply the work of an idiot, the fact remains: GameCube games are enjoying a profitable time on the collector’s market. But what if you’re selling? Well, it would of course depend on what games you own, how common or rare they are, and the condition of both the media and the packaging.

Some things aren’t worth as much as we expect, even in mint condition. But with prices like this, it’s worth checking your library and making some comparisons. You might even need to make a call to your insurer.
