Confirmation of the release date of The Wonder Boy Collection has been received! The boxed and digital on compendium of classic Wonder Boy titles for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 from ININ Games and Japanese retro publisher Bliss Brain will be available from June 3rd, 2022, at retailers and digital stores in Europe and North America.
The collection boasts the cult gaming series’ most essential titles in one place:
Wonder Boy (1986)
Wonder Boy in Monster Land (1987)
Wonder Boy in Monster World (1991)
Monster World IV (1994)
To get you in the mood, a new video (above) featuring a sneak peek at the four games has also been released. The collection boasts more than just the four games, however. Gamers can expect additional features including filter, shader, rewind/forward, save anytime, and even a gallery of art from the games.
US fans should order from the ININ Games Store on Amazon.com, while fans elsewhere around the world should refer to iningames.com or blissbrain.co.jp for pre-ordering The Wonder Boy Collection.
Limited & Collector’s Editions at Strictly Limited Games
Beyond The Wonder Boy Collection, Strictly Limited Games is issuing the Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection on Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation, which features six games to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary (a year late). Expanding on the four titles included in The Wonder Boy Collection, the Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection adds:
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair (1988)
Wonder Boy: The Dragon‘s Trap (1989)
Also included are console ports from Arcade, Master System / Sega MARK III, Mega Drive / Genesis and more, which means the Anniversary Collection comes with 21 different versions!
Other options are available. The highly limited Collector’s Edition with exclusive collectible items includes:
- Acrylic Wonder Boy diorama
- Best Of soundtrack
- Beautiful artbook
- Card game
- Collector’s coin album

This Collector’s Edition can be pre-ordered for €99.99, and is limited to 3,000 copies for Nintendo Switch and 1,500 copies for PS4.
