THEC64 Collection 3 is coming to Evercade, with 13 8-bit classics from Hewson and Epyx.

The success of the first two C64 Collections for Evercade has yielded a third volume. THEC64 Collection 3 is coming to Evercade in 2024, and features more Commodore 64 classics for the Evercade.

Labelled 06 in the Home Computer Classics series, THEC64 Collection 3 features:

  • Anarchy
  • Boulder Dash
  • Break Dance
  • Cyberdyne Warrior
  • Cybernoid II: The Revenge
  • Deliverance: Stormlord II
  • Exolon
  • Heavy Metal Paradroid
  • Jumpman Junior
  • Netherworld
  • Street Sports Soccer
  • Summer Games II
  • Super Cycle

Let’s take a look at it.

Are these C64 classics?

There has been some discussion over the game selection on the C64 collections for Evercade. In some ways, the lack of true “classic” titles has raised eyebrows, but of course it’s all about the deals that can be made. No, there’s no Turrican or Creatures at this stage, but at the same time, we have had Impossible Mission, Uridium, and Bruce Lee (“Lee”).

And of course, these collections feature as broad a selection of C64 games as possible without running into issues with keyboard commands. Text/graphic adventures are unlikely to land on Evercade, both for C64 and Amiga (and any other platforms that may see a resurgence on the consoles), but there is plenty to choose from.

If these carts sell well, new deals can be struck, with a more varied selection of titles from otheer publishers added.

THEC64 Collection 3 for Evercade is slated for release on February 29th, 2024. Check it out on the Evercade website.
