First UK Amiga show in yours, Kickstart 01, takes place this weekend and tickets are still available for Sunday.

I really wish I was going to this, but that doesn’t mean you should miss out. Taking place at Meadow Lane Stadium (home to Notts Country football team) this weekend (Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July), the event is rammed with names you’ll know from the Amiga world.

Guests confirmed at the Kickstart Amiga show so far include:

  • David Pleasance – Commodore Uk
  • Trevor Dickinson – A-eon Technology
  • Mike Battilana – Cloanto
  • Neil Thomas – RmcRetro and The Cave
  • The Akiko32 Hardware project
  • Nivrig Nivrig Games
  • DJ H0ffman
  • Many Amiga user groups such as RHAG, SWAG, SAG, YAG and NAG

Both days are jam-packed with Amiga goodness, but as Sunday is what you’re interested in at this point, here’s what’s planned:

  • Doors open 9:00am: Check into event, get your lanyard, wristband and Programme
  • Gaming Comp3 10:30am: Game against other show attendees for prizes and highscores – given the location, there must be a Kick Off 2 or Sensible Soccer event!
  • Simon Phipps 11.30am: CORE Design – Onstage presentation with an audience Q&A
  • Mev Dinc 1:00pm: VIVID Image – Onstage talk with an audience Q&A
  • Gaming Comp – The Decider 2:30pm: Game against other show attendees for prizes and highscores
  • Raffle & prize giving 3:00pm: Announcement of the raffle winners and thanks
  • Doors close 5:00pm

You may know that the event has been conceived and organized by Ravi Abbott. He’s one of the co-hosts of The Retro Hour podcast and YouTuber, as well as a regular on the Amiga Addict magazine. A long-time Amiga user, he’s done amazing work getting the event off the blocks and it looks as though both days will be excellent.
