Following some early leaks, Lego has confirmed the release of a new adult-grade Lego Mario Kart kit, set for release on May 15th, 2025.
The 18+ set has 1972 pieces, and is labelled item 72037. Currently available for preorder at £149.99, the set comes with some extras for Lego Insiders.
Here’s the confirmation trailer from X (formerly Twitter):
The course of Lego Mario Kart
In case you were unaware, Mario Kart is a new element to Lego’s Super Mario line. A range of vehicles available that are compatible with the interactive Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. However, the set we’re discussing here is not one of those. Rather, this sits alongside the Mighty Bowser and Mario and Yoshi Lego kits.
Meanwhile, you are probably already aware of Lego sets geared to retro gamers, such as the Lego Atari 2600 and the Lego Pac-Man arcade unit. Also, keep your eyes peeled for the Lego Game Boy, set to arrive later this year.
