The Wii U eShop close date and the 3DS eShop end date have both been confirmed.

We’ve known it was coming for a while, but we now have a date to plan for.

March 28th, 2023 is when the 3DS and Wii U eShops will close, meaning no more buying digital games or DLC for your last generation Nintendo consoles.

It’s not all bad news. Anything you’ve already bought will remain available to download, although that will no doubt end at some point.

And software updates will continue where applicable, so any necessary bug and other patching can take place. This is probably more likely to be for hardware devices than homebrew exploit mitigation, however.
